I'm confident in Avi, but I don't find the friend.com teaser and what it says about attractive. The early prototype screenshots suggested an always listening AI that gives advice, memory aids, and summaries. The 'friend' in thet teaser draws your attention away from the moment by texting you inane and sometimes rude remarks about what's happening to you right now. The message I'm getting is that 'friend' draws your attention away from the moment to text messages from a friend who has nothing interesting to say. How does this solve the screen-oriented alienation young people feel? I don't doubt there's more to this product but I don't find what I saw very attractive.

The trailer conversations definitely felt stilted, but after reviewing his posts I’m really intrigued by his brief relating to the “AI your mom will use everyday” and the idea of a companion for folks who don’t have anyone by choice or circumstances….
