taste seems more scarce these days, and increasingly differentiating in the age of AI where so much of skills-based productivity is offloaded to compute.

makes me think about the development of taste, and how we nurture taste for the next gen of humans.

Strongly agree but also it’s really unclear what ‘good taste’ is. If I say I have good taste, lots of people might disagree. If you said I have good taste more people might believe it. Is taste actually a reflection of the trust and acceptance of other tastemakers?

I think that last sentence is the crux of it. And I think there are cultural and societal levels.
