According to the analytical company Santiment, the number of ETH placed for staking in the Ethereum 2.0 network amounted to 47.38 million. This is 33.9% of the total cryptocurrency supply. Analysts reported that this figure more than tripled from about 10.9% of the coins held on the ETH2 Beacon deposit contract two years ago. Now the amount of assets in it exceeds $140 billion.

The problem of Ethereum scaling does not lose its relevance, but developers do not sit idly by. More recently, Dencun has been upgraded, which dramatically reduced L2 commissions. Now an equally large-scale update is being prepared - Pectra, designed to make the system more flexible, efficient and user-friendly. Pectra combines Prague and Electra updates designed to expand the capabilities of wallets and make Ethereum more efficient. A large-scale upgrade is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. Pectra, in particular, will bring the functionality of smart contracts to the usual wallets and allow validators to stake more than the current limit of 32 ETH - up to 2048 ETH.

Ethereum doubled bitcoin in terms of the volume of commissions collected in six months. The Ethereum blockchain received the highest revenue from commissions in the first six months of 2024 - $2.72 billion. This follows from the report of the analytical company Lookonchain on the income of the top 10 blockchains for six months.
