If one were to build an API for venture capital, what would it include? (This question is intentionally broad)

Crunchbase but API first. A way to explore the knowledge graph of entities (founders, companies, investors, ...) and empower anyone to do their own analysis. Maybe add global dashboards like Dune analytics to bootstrap usage.

Crunchbase is kind of what this thread is about, an api for vc. I donโt have the paid version of crunchbase, so maybe they already built it, but would like to see broad stats for vc investments, like total capital raise categorized by industry and region.

The problem with Crunchbase is that the data is low quality, and the data is low quality because they messed up the incentive structure. There is an opportunity to build ProductHunt x Crunchbase, I.e. data is free and people use it to announce their funding rounds @rrhoover
