How about Awaji Island? Although it is a remote island, it is relatively close to Osaka, has hot springs, and is rich in seafood and mountain food.

You can also see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the sea whirlpools by boat. The photo is of raw shirasu bowl. It's a special place where you can't eat raw shirasu bowl unless it's fresh.
