i see many comparing the crypto AI agent explosion to 2020 DeFi. i get why that is and i'd love for it to be true. but DeFi was anchored around some core "jobs to be done": swapping, lending, stables, crowdfunding. what is the analogous set of uses for agents?

The most compelling use case I see is UX. See bankr making buying & bridging easy and askgina's upcoming wallet integration. To my mind this is the "abstracting away complexity" bit that we've been talking about for the past 2 years.

i can see this but it does put a ceiling on value capture, no?

There probably is a ceiling on that, bankr takes a tiny cut of every swap it facilitates so it's limited by the number of swaps taking place. But at the same time, if it's easier to swap and the barrier to entry is lower then more swaps will take place. (i.e users too daunted by a crypto wallet) So it will help grow the pie for everyone, including it's own TAM.
