I've seen a lot of comparisons to anonymous web2 social networks (Whisper, YikYak, etc) which burned out quick / trended to the worst form of engagement bait (racism, sensationalism, gossip, ...)

Mechanism design matters. Crowd deletion/curation, now reveals, and other new ideas have potential for a different outcome IMO

Anoncast isn't a network (yet). Doesn't require a social graph unlike YikYak/Whisper/Blind. So it can be far more utility minded today and evolve faster on those features.

I saw the worst on yikyak, which has affected me and I wish I could unsee it yet it’s also a glimpse into the realities of how certain people think…
