It’s been 21 days without alcohol for me. Not planning to get totally sober but wanted to take a little break for physical and mental health reasons. They say a habit forms in 21 days. Not sure about habits but I feel totally fine not drinking for another 10 days since that was my original goal. I must say, however, that going out and not having a drink is hard as hell, especially if you suffer from social anxiety. It is still doable though if you minimize some social overly extraverted interactions.

It gets easier - though I’ve found that my tolerance for drunk people is at an all time low - like I can go out and have a good time for a couple hours but once that 3rd or 4th drink kicks in for folks and people just get loud and stupidly enthusiastic for the dumbest stories they’ve already told me I’m getting very bored

Way to stick with it! Similar boat. I’ve found it beneficial to spend time in different settings where drinking isn’t the primary focus. Has led me to spend more time with different people too - folks with common hobbies/interests vs. drinking buddies. 331 $degen

Isn't drinks without alcohol an option? I stopped having alcohol when I go out bc I have this feeling of imminent disaster, even though all brazilians drink beer casually from 9 am to 11 pm.

Congratulations! Its really hard to do this, esp when you realize just how much social interactions revolve around drinking. Fine early on, but the more drinks people have the more awkward it gets. lol

At the beginning of the year, I didn't drink alcohol for 4 months, and after that, one glass of wine hit me like a whole bottle 😀
