my mother in law just sent me this pic from a year ago today

i had a major quad injury and had surgery to repair it. 

then, 10 days later, my husband (he's an athlete too) got a major achilles injury, and this photo was taken after his surgery.

so there we were, both unable to walk, hobbling around on crutches for months.

it was one of those moments where you either laugh or cry because it was just ridiculous.

we decided right then to make serious changes, prioritizing our health and recovery and moved away from living next to the national training centre

i'm so happy we've both recovered, we've learned so much from those tough times and have such a better approach to sport and life now!!

You either laugh or cry because it’s ridiculous - my roommate managed to injure his back during his rec basketball game THE SAME DAY I was finally released from my boot after my Achilles injury

Yeah, we’re good - he recovered in about a week, mine is still a work in progress (a year later) but I’m getting there

Not being able to drive was the absolute worst - thank god I was able to work from home the whole time

the worst was us both not being able to drive

we had to get one of the workers from the athletics track to drive the car to our house so we avoided a crazy parking ticket hahah

its such a weird thing to go through with someone but i guess you both understand the pain, frustration and humour

i hope youre both doing much better now too!!
