A long time ago I decided that I was a great photographer (spoiler: I wasn’t) and wanted to work abroad. I sent out a bunch of resumes to random places, often without even checking where exactly I was applying. Surprisingly, it worked - I got a response: “We expect you in a week, if you’re late, don’t come.” The response was from a Dominican travel company... I didn’t even know what kind of country it was or where it was located. My language skills were practically zero, and I only had enough money for a one-way ticket 😅. So with $100 in my pocket, I went to the unknown, 10,000 km away, and lived there for almost 5 years. I guess this story is about how taking risks can pay off, and maybe it can even be linked to cryptocurrency - but I’ll let you decide. If anyone is interested, I can write a sequel.

A trip to an unknown place 10,000 kilometers away without knowing the language or having any travel experience is fun, but also a bit scary 😊. The first issue was that I flew right before the New Year holidays: the tickets were very expensive, and there were no direct flights at all. I had to make several connections in overcrowded airports, where it was difficult to navigate for the first time, and I was constantly afraid of missing my flight. Being without money would have been a big problem. But everything worked out: a total of 18 hours of travel, with 11 of those in the air, and I found myself in the Dominican Republic. The airport in Punta Cana looks like a big bungalow, and you step right onto the tarmac from the plane. My first thought after leaving the plane was, "I'm going to die here!" 😂 The air was so humid and hot that it was hard to breathe at first. However, this feeling quickly passed, and within half an hour, I had already forgotten about it 😅.

But how many emotions and adrenaline I got :) it’s exciting!
