I've noticed hourly rates for programmers went down in last 3 years in two independent consulting business I serve as an advisor (EU & US). In Europe median is down by about 15% for common tech stack. In US the average stays the same but variance is higher thanks to "AI" roles popping up in the market. Anyone noticed same trend?

Opposite in Melbourne. Rates are climbing almost to the range of low US dev rates, and the market is back on - recruiters offices must look like a scene from Wolf of Wallstreet right now, and overseas recruiters are slurping up local talent
