i use brave because it’s chrome without google and i can turn off all the brave junk, but i’m not sure why i don’t just use chromium. 

perplexity justified the choice: 
- brave has automatic updates while chromium does not 
- brave supports v2 manifest extensions like ublock origin while chromium will not 
- brave has safety and adblock built in, like https everywhere and brave shield, while chromium does not 
- you can turn off all the junk like leo ai, brave wallet, and BAT.
