Do you think startups are risky? Or working for a BigCo during a downturn?

Everything is risky in a downturn The most important thing is to be with a good team doing valuable work where you’re growing and learning valuable skills, even if it’s a big company or startup that fails

Startups are risky, working for startups is not ie: individual companies are likely to fail but with the speed that new startups emerge there's always another role if you're good at what you do

Along with BigCo valuations slashed down, so is the opportunity cost of the equity grants they hand out. Better to work for a small startup now, founders are being generous with equity in the bear market.
