“Why did team X raise Y at Z whereas team A only raised B at C?” 1. Market, team, product all count but one more than others 2. Fundraising is a skill, funds raised is an output

I wasn't part of the silicon valley era, and I feel like I'm getting to overhear the kinds of interesting conversations you'd get by living in bay area in 2010s

it makes me wonder about this thread on degen setting farcaster back by @woj.eth -- it makes sense that the same argument would apply to dwr dropping out of /founders to create his own folder for these thoughts when semantic classification and a client could have achieved the same results without further sacrificing quality in /founders i think it would be great to have some of the current silicon valley residents / ca socialites from this channel access /founders as they work closely with startups. https://warpcast.com/woj.eth/0x69895865

Interesting — I still like the founders channel, but the specific goal and restricted membership of this one allow me to super follow it. (Would get TMI if I did that with founders)

i don't personally read /founders anymore just occasionally post to it or see the tag in my feed. i agree the distillation is nice, but think it could be done without sacrifice to higher level channel buckets. /books has done a nice job with that as far as i can tell, the AMAs bring an aura of quality while still maintaining a high member count. perhaps @kazi has some thoughts on improving /founders

i tried to use /book for a while but really it was just out of a desire to compete and as far as competition goes i'd rather compete within a community than against a community.. if that makes sense potentially a founder thing, actually in jim mckelvey's book (cash app cofounder) he mentions not using social media because of the natural desire for competition degrading the experience
