I think we need to establish an “emotional damage” level for recommendations. I watched “Suzume” while traveling and finished the movie in an airport. 2 people asked me if I was okay because I couldn’t hold back my tears. Beautiful, powerful, but an emotional story I was not prepared for. Trailer has too many spoilers. Skip it. 
Available on Netflix in the U.S.  Maybe don’t watch it in public ;)

lets say I follow Makoto Shinkai for a long time now so the setting of his movies is quite familiar with me and I sort of can predict what he wants to show. but Suzume was different ... I was emotionally engaged with the entire movie and even though i watched it in a family party i couldnt keep my eyes off.

I was not prepared to be emotionally wrecked by a chair.
