What’s been your favourite grape / region / style discovery in the past year? 

For me it’s Grenache. I used to think it was “simple, hot weather, fruit roll up wine” or whatever the stereotype. But it’s so much more interesting and complex than its reputation! Not just CNDP but also in priorat, Australia…

I’ve had a grand total of zero of these wines. What should I know about them? What are they like??

Wines from Tenerife and Mallorca. Spanish islands really produce great ones

Never really enjoyed dessert wines, but went to Portugal and drank a large share of Port. Really grew on me, in particular vintage & ruby

I became a big Prosecco fan in the past couple of years. It is a perfect wine for the summer or for casual daydrinking with friends. Light and refreshing.

Nebbiolo in Barolo! Once you are hooked by it, it s difficult to go back other grapes…

Chianti has been a nice change of pace for me, otherwise any interesting orange from Austria or Slovenia
