One point worth acknowledging: after killing tens of millions under Mao, the CCP under Deng Xiaoping lifted a billion plus people out of abject poverty. That’s the best counter I can come up with.

When I read Chinese (or other’s) criticisms of Western governments I often agree with the criticisms!

But the reverse is not frequently reciprocated, instead my agreement is viewed as an internet argument “win”
