I'm somewhat annoyed by the thoughts of people who imply GameFi as something fundamentally related to gameplay. I tend to believe that nowadays 99% of all GameFi projects that position themselves as a game project are just garbage.

What is GameFi, and why does it have nothing to do with gaming? Let me explain. GameFi is gamified finance, which is essentially classic gamification + DeFi, usually with Play To Earn elements. It is the Play To Earn element that breaks the fundamental gamification of GameFi.

And to understand why this is the case, we need to first understand the purposes for which people come to cryptocurrency and the purposes for which people play games.

I think it's likely that most retailers came into the crypto industry with the goal of getting rich. And that is an adequate, reasonable reason. Those who dedicated themselves to the cause got rich.
