not sure how I feel about these wire splices. they are “kind of” code compliant for hiding behind drywall. while it might not be a hazard, good luck finding it again if it ever breaks.

generally yes. all electrical wiring should be a complete run from box to box or a home run from box to panel. I think these are compliant in some jurisdictions but just feels wrong.
