Is it insane to use an animated GIF for an open graph image?

Initially, was considering using it on an open graph image for shared links, but I don't think the animation will render on several platforms. But I might throw it on my homepage which uses similar language

This makes complete sense then in context! 

If it was just the visual with no text accompanying it I’d say most people wouldn’t understand it (only product/devs would)

May pursue an option where the phone is removed altogether, and instead of a cube, a simple + familiar UI element or two

also after looking at it again, i would see this as industrial product design too since the phone (aka the physical product) is being "wireframed" too - maybe keep the phone the HQ black version the whole time?
