Surprising distance comparisons are among my favorite geography facts. Here's a new one I learned:

The capital of Ethiopia is as far from the largest city in Nigeria as it is from Mumbai in India. https://i.imgur.com/6iS9XSn.jpg

Senegal is like an “n” around Gambia. I find it soooo cool that there are a lot of trips you’ll take from the southern Senegal area (Casamance) to Northern Senegal that require driving through Gambia. https://i.imgur.com/2cryaFM.jpg

More country planning than geography but it’s weird how Pennsylvania is so wide so you can routinely drive from Philadelphia to NYC (< 2 hours drive) but you would generally fly to go from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh (> 5 hours drive).
