I don't think it's necessary to sacrifice individuality to help our species progress. Individuality in my eyes is something too precious to lose. At the same time, our differences have certainly caused much division and conflict.

Not saying I know the answer, but there's got to be a way to preserve our unique individuality while at the same time learning to work together. Im not on board with becoming the Borg via AI.
