some version of running on my own servers, not sure what the infra is like for this.

i don't think its possible at this point unfortunately. Infra is still pretty early and complex. But could be a longer term goal! what's the need behind running it yourself if you don't mind sharing?

my fav thing about Bluesky's design is that the timeline is largely decoupled from the client, lots of people are designing their own timelines with some independent infrastructures. i'd like to see future where this kind of thing is easier and easier, rather than a future where we're all beholden to a couple providers who we have to trust to have our interests at heart indefinitely. :)
