i used to write down 3 things i was grateful for that day and 3 things i could do to make tomorrow better , and then rate my day 1-5 each day

i stopped doing it because the rating didn’t matter — the act of writing what i was grateful for and looking forward made it so that i never wrote less than a 3, even on “objectively” bad days

just gotta count your blessings and keep moving forward

i think there are different layers to it. to me 'bad day' doesn't mean you're not learning anything from these days or that they aren't beautiful times to be alive. rather it means i don't want to stay in that zone most of the time
