Bao often sighed, thinking, "I am weak, thin, and I bend too easily. I wish I were like the oak β unyielding and powerful."
One summer, a fierce storm rolled in β the worst the village had seen in decades. The wind howled like a wild beast, tearing through the fields, and rain poured like a never-ending waterfall. Trees shook, rivers swelled, and the villagers huddled in their homes, hoping their little houses would withstand the fury of the storm.
