We need more public goods. I’d like to see more focus on NFTs but @farcaster and @base are setting great examples.🫡 https://x.com/akasteveyyy/status/1843390555545579826?s=46&t=1-KoqRrw-Co2MUjXMskfRA

Why NFTs? Not knocking it, just curious as an "NFT" can kind of be anything. Art. Membership. Metadata. What are you implying when you say that?

Open source tools for NFTs would make it even easier to be a creator and community builder. NFTs are one the easiest ways to visualize a network, record provenance, understand collector behavior. I agree it’s a vague term, but I truly mean all NFTs. My free L2 mints, high value art, POAPs, etc all tell a story

So collectibles. Ok. That makes sense.

Everyone hates “NFTs” but I don’t wanna let that term go 😅

My issue isn't with the backlash. It's just that "NFT" speaks to a standard and a tech that can be applied to so many things beyond collectibles. I guess maybe it is with the potential confusion as well. Many who have an immediate notion of an "NFT" associate it with the grift rather than the potential.

Still just testnet but really enjoyed the ability for it to be data as well as collectible as shown by my travel project. https://wandermarks.xyz/dashboard/world?owner=saadiq.eth

Ohh this is cool! Wait, can JSON metadata verify where in the world something was created, or is the user just submitting the info and it records it?

Yeah. It can't verify anything in and of itself. You can mint whatever metadata you want to craft if you're willing to pay for the minting. It currently just trusts wherever you say you've been. One COULD build an app that itself verifies locations.
