I thought of an interesting if nerdy metaphor for the relationship of crypto and AI: Degeneracy pressures. Regular stars are stabilized by thermal pressure counteracting gravity, but white dwarfs are stabilized by electron degeneracy pressure counteracting gravity. Neutron stars have neutron degeneracy pressure. Degeneracy pressures arise from the uncertainty principle, via Pauli exclusion principle type mechanisms. Feels like basic encryption as well as zk type things play a degeneracy type role. Without them, AI models would collapse more and more data into denser and denser “stars” erasing boundaries between “individuals” considered as bounded data bags. So: Basic public/private visibility/accessibility status = thermal pressure Electron degeneracy pressure = basic encryption Neutron degeneracy pressure = zk snarks and other esoterica Does this track?

I love this, but I think of zk-snarks having more electron-like levels of complex chemistry, and basic encryption as being more nucleus simple (e.g. periodic table less interesting than chem)

This order also works. Zk as first line of defense, blunt-force encryption as last line
