not to sound like a grumpy old man, but something i now think was really wonderful about reddit culture back in the day (wasn't a Day 1 user, but was pretty active from 2010-2014) was that i never felt like anyone was trying to tell me, or anyone else for that matter, "how to use" reddit

users came and if they stayed, they'd find their respective subreddits and either adhere to the established rules of engagements or rage quit to start their own; thus enabling users to drive great content aggregation, creation and ultimately growth never felt like anyone was trying to enforce a certain culture or set of behaviors (i'm sure there were users like this but i didn't see nearly as much navel gazing on this one topic as i have as of late on FC πŸ˜‚)
