Thank you, agrimony! We do what we can in terms of content & exhibitions, but of course that’s just one POV. Kinda makes me wonder what we can do to raise the voices of more curators and their varying perspectives.

I feel like curators really are the silent partners bridging creators and Communities. Oftentimes they don't get the recognition they deserve. Would you say a well curated exhibition should minimise or maximise the curators' perspective?

As a rule I think it's super cringe when curators make their vision the priority in an exhibition. The artists should always take centre stage. As with any rule, there are a handful of exceptions. The curator's role in all this is to parse out the stories between artworks and elucidate them to the viewer, so that the artworks can be even more appreciated in context.

I'm aligned with that. Which means that, broadly speaking, the best curators are the most silent. Wonder how we can shine the spotlight on the curatorial role in this case

Haha, you could say that! But perhaps only in the context of a show? For example: I love the work of Hans Ulrich Obrist. He is the stereotype of a 'celebrity curator' that everyone knows, and very likely you will see his exhibition and maybe not know the names of all the artists (at least - that has been my case). And yet, when I see one of his shows, I don't feel like his ego is present in it. I think the artists are put front and centre. What he's famous for is his EXTENSIVE knowledge of artists' practices and his archive of artist interviews, his writings on curating, and how he applies this to spotlight artists. So maybe the two can co-exist: be silent in an exhibition, but be loud in the work you do to promote artists?
