I want to run a full node but am not sure about the hardware to buy. Ik there's a lot of resources but they are overwhelming for a hardware newbie like me. I'm looking for someone to hop on a call and guide me thru the purchasing options, where to buy them, and how to set it up Reward: 0.022 ETH or 50 USDC @bountybot

latest NUCs 12/13 gen are all fine with i3. Grab a 2TB SSD at least (4TB to future proof) and 32GB RAM. Follow Yorick's great guide to choosing an SSD. Some nuances there you might want to look at. https://gist.github.com/yorickdowne/f3a3e79a573bf35767cd002cc977b038

As someone with a 2TB drive, get 4TB. Mine will be full in about 6 months.

--state.scheme=path (Geth) reduced the disk space considerably, but I'm charting out my usage and my 2TB drive is 75% full now. Should max out in July / August. Geth says "Soon, we will have a path-based state scheme which enables the pruning by default" so that may help?

good news! geth pbss is already here, its just not the default option but you can set it. https://www.coincashew.com/coins/overview-eth/guide-or-how-to-setup-a-validator-on-eth2-mainnet/part-iii-tips/geth-enabling-path-based-state-storage

Yep - I switched to that a few weeks back. It works great! But no pruning? Is it not yet ready, or it is not required? https://geth.ethereum.org/docs/fundamentals/pruning
