gothic metal architectural designs (1794)
"the change now taking place in the materials for sashes, sky-lights, fan-lights, staircases, etc. from Wood to Metal, has, besides the elegance of appearance, the advantages of strength and extensive durability. the difference of expense in the former and latter, is so inconsiderable, as not to be worthy of notice; nay, in many cases, such as curve-lineal and Gothic work, the expense is less in Metal than in Wood."
- the following sketches are submitted to the Public, and will from time to time be followed by others, by their most obedient and very humble Servant, JOSEPH BOTTOMLEY, 1794 1 reply
