Why does my player point allocation change? Some matches I have 250, others 300 etc.

Im an honest Degen. I'm learning about Web 3, farcaster and I'm interested in $Degen and $Gloom. I love skiing, mtn biking and hiking when I can.  

I always thought this was based on the average of the players for that game, to adapt the teams cap to the current player cap.
That's not explained in the documentation or anywhere though.
