My dad who has worked for the same company as a lead engineer for the last 30+ years lost his job today, exactly 1 year before he could retire. Shit like this just reaffirms in my mind that people shouldn’t give the best years of their lives to some soulless company that doesn’t care. I certainly won’t do it.

He got 3 months of severance so there’s that, but it’s not a lot by any means.
