On the occasion of Juneteenth in the US, I'm sharing this potent handwritten note by Frederick Douglass (1895) Douglass was an African-American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman. After escaping from slavery, he became a national leader, gaining note for his dazzling oratory and antislavery writings. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.
