random thoughts on onchain content: 1. for most people with taste (including artists, creators, etc), its actually demotivating and not compelling when they see bad content earn more money onchain than good content; obviously bad/good is subjective, but a turnoff nonetheless 2. most of the major onchain “curators” (i.e. people who can move markets to drive earnings for creators) are people with influence but not necessarily with taste; obviously not true for all onchain content models, but true for most “viral” pieces of onchain content and memes whoever solves this wins

this is something i think about often, because, alas, it makes me depressed. imo the issue is that 'taste' can't be (easily) taught and 'vibes' are easy to sell. i also think the technical crowd (generally) fails to have any deep or lasting interest in educating themselves about art, because they can't see a clear value metric in doing so. adding crypto to the mix just made it more apparent. this space also skews heavily male, and art (& curation) skews female. there's a fundamental mismatch between those w/ taste knowledge & what's considered valuable aka viral aka metrics based.
