Oh wow, even in this day and age my daughter's school sends an attachment as .docx which she can't open on Android (at least not by default on her version of it). It's e-mail: just include the fucking text in the body of the mail!

Not exactly the same but once my therapist sent me an appointment reminder as a pdf.

It also makes reading difficult even when you can open the attachment, because you’ll have to scroll horizontally back and forth to read every line after zooming in on the page. Same for people who embed their email text inside a table — it prevents the text from flowing down when I zoom in / make the font larger. Since I’m so often reading email on mobile, I’ve just started ignoring email that was not written with mobile readability in mind.
