I am this 🤏 close to kicking WhatsApp off my phone.

If you're from the US you'll be like "so what" but is really embedded in Europe and definitely in the Netherlands.

It is the default messaging app used by everyone, businesses, government, neighbourhoods, etc.

It's retarded how dependent we are on it.

Yeah, that's why I still haven't done it.

I've never had Facebook so already miss out a lot of what friends and family post there.

Perhaps I should wait for mandatory EU messaging app regulation but they'll find a way to sabotage that anyway.

I tried, didn't work for me. I value my friends more then my personal longing for signal only

I am slooowly growing my group of friends on Signal... there is progress but it's slow...

a few people I know use only whatsapp and that's the reason I can't get rid of it
I never get how they could prefer it over other apps such as telegram 🙄

WhatsApp is ubiquitous in Southeast Asia (outside of Thailand, which uses Line a lot). I would gladly get rid of it (ditched Facebook ten years ago), but my colleagues and clients use it all the time, so I’m stuck.

I use Signal only with those few friends and family that I’ve forcefully converted

I have no regrets about deleting it 2 years ago :))😎
