Is there any reason I shouldn’t copy all my old blogs from medium to paragraph? Any pros/cons to think about? Don’t really feel like self hosting, but that might change sometime in the future.

Pros: - comments on warpcaster appear on paragraph - You get wallet + email subs on paragraph - you could activate collectibles and maybe get more than medium partner program Cons: - time - duplicate SEO content

If you care about your audience on medium, not worth switching. If you just need a cms for your content, not worth switching. If you want to future proof it, self host. Effort will be 20% more short term, but then you can go years without needing to "respond" to a new revenue attempts by these content houses.

I hate Medium. They started out so nicely and now their entire platform has become unusable. Absolutely rescue your work from there.

Best I can think is fragmenting your audience, which I think this is why any fulltime blogger/writer almost always ends up going the self hosted route.

isn’t the data housed on arweave? doesn’t that answer the ‘hosting’ question? / @colin

The only reason I'm with Medium is because it's clean. In terms of utilities, I have 0 access to API. There's no JSON feed endpoint - I have to parse the XML from the RSS feed. The styling of the blog page is very limited, the default style looks clean but not fitting for white branding. I'm considering Paragraph.
