I can send some steamboat recommendations.  What type of skier are you? Is it a guys trip, family trip?

it's a family trip over winter holidays and NYE. we have two kids, ages 10 and 12

i grew up skiing in UT and have been skiing for a... long time. i started snowboarding when most ski resorts didn't allow it ;-)

Steamboat is the best for kids - more of an intermediate mountain with tons of tree skiing, jumps, obstacles, etc.  Also not as high altitude so easier to acclimate.  Closer to wyoming so has a nice relaxed cowboy vibe, not fancy.
 Here are the recommendations we've given to friends.  Where are you staying?
