What are some key differences in the education system today from when you were going to school?

The gamification of the rankings. Colleges spending a ton of money to directly advertise to students, also paying them to attend, to boost avg SAT and GPAs. The amount of mail we are getting is gross. None of this is optimizing for education, just the rankings. Ranking is inherently a scarcity play.

That’s a good point, I remember hearing all about school rankings when applying. Also what really bothered me was the weed out classes that purposefully had high failure rates to keep their programs prestigious, should be illegal honestly.
