i had an awesome debate just now with a couple of folks i consider 🐐 onchain investors (they're on farcaster, btw)

crux of the debate was:

do you think Farcaster's growth to 1M DAU will be because of onchain dynamics (economic incentives)? or in spite of it?

i come down strongly on the side of "because of"

Very strongly on the "because of" side.  I had a discussion recently about whether Farcaster's success is guaranteed.  My thoughts:

We aren't even close to a tipping point, but over a long enough time horizon the onchain dynamics (digital property rights) will continue to erode the web2 platforms and creators will win

Why can't Meta create its own L2 and bring social media companies to web3 in the same way that farcaster did?
