Go for it. 15min and you are good to go. Replaced all my baremetal servers with them. Low power, silent and capable

True! I did just get it plugged up and done the initial install, and yes, was surprised how quickly it went! RPIs have definitely come a long way since the rpi1. I am debating getting an M.2 hat though, so I can install an NVME SSD on it...

I used it for ssd, graphics, wifi repeiter. No regrets Might need a better heatsink or fan though. Can get quite warm and for longevity sakes might benefit from a better cooling

Ah yes, I have a heatsink and a fan installed on mine, I think it makes sense now given they are a lot more powerful than the rpi1 or rpi2, haha!

Rpi3 can be fanless also. Roi4 when first released had serious heating problems but than was corrected in sw. Rpi5 is okeyish being passive cooled buy under stress it can get quite hot. Depends on the usecase. Mine run docker containers and are warm to hot all the time. Fan solved downclocking

I just ordered an M.2 hat, 2TB NVMe SSD 2280, and another active fan and larger well-ventilated case for it. I've got a passive heatsink on it already, plus active fan, but with the M.2 hat I'll need a larger case and another fan. I do think it's better to err on the side of caution and keep them well-ventilated! I'm impressed you're running docker containers on it, can I ask what your rpi5 is doing?
