I’m not sure I’m sold that the platforms in question have these big evil 100% take rates

Tons of people/creators/businesses have made life changing money, relationships, opportunities via web2 platforms

even if they didn’t get a cut of the literal ad revenue - they still captured a ton of the value that their content created via the distribution the platform provided. Most of this implicit value exchange happens “off-platform” but the value is created as a direct result of the platform

I fw coins tho but moreso just don’t know if this narrative from RWO is sound

My last company made tens of millions off Facebook with no funding

I have friends that have built ecom businesses off TikTok or become creators on YouTube that allowed them to quit their tech 9-5 jobs

Yeah the “evil” web2 platforms take a bunch of money but they also change lives. They changed mine

It’s so easy to dunk on the web2 platforms but the promises of web3 social have yet to be fulfilled because the user scale is just not there

I’m still optimistic though so let’s see
