No pants needed! Shorts weather all year around from what I've heard. I have a pair of jeans and thin Uniqlo Airism golf pants that look like normal pants because I don't know where in the world I'll end up in the next few months.

US plugs work everywhere I've been in Chiang Mai and airport hotel in Bangkok. I always travel with an adapter just in case. Rainy season wrapped up at the beginning of Oct so nothing intense. Still pretty hot each day until Dec when it cools off. I'd bring a light jacket though for scattered showers.
