I'm surprised by how heartwarming I'm finding the new documentary on John Williams, it's so uplifting. Imagine being "discovered" by a young Steven Spielberg, when you're already mid-way through your career...what a long-game, fruitful and loving creative collaboration...I like this a lot.

Pre- Spielberg, one of John Williams best scores was for Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye. The first 10 minutes is comprised of a medley of multiple version of the theme and it sets the tone for the whole film.
