I think the dark forest theory gets it wrong. The internet isn't retreating into private groups—it's building cities. Everyone can see them, anyone can join, but you have to fully live in one to understand what's being built there and appreciate the knowledge and culture.

It took a while to come to the realization that certain experiences have to be lived to be understood and fully appreciated. These are still nascent days, yet they’re built with the history of everything that came before it.
