I think one of the most dangerous aspects of crypto no one talks about is the target rich environment of never-ending technical rabbit holes that can become an obsessive special interest that never ever matters big picture. Too many bros have I seen disappear into their particular crypto thing that virtually no one else understood or cared about to the neglect of everything else.

Thats life though. Too many shiny objects you can get distracted by that make you lose focus form the bigger picture. The willpower to stay focused is something really only few possess.

I don't disagree with you - I just feel like in crypto the distance between the main path and eternal side-quest is really really short. Like, you can get hung up IRL learning to smelt your own iron for custom tools or something, but it takes a long time to hit every step of increasingly difficult narrow interest and usually someone asks "why, tho?" It's also harder to tell in crypto what is "I just need to lock-in" problem solving and what is "you've locked-in to intellectual dilly-dallying," you know?

The thing is, everyone’s main path is different, and that path is determined by ones ability to see the forest from the trees. Those who care about the ecosystem at large vs. those who get caught up in the short term dopamine hits will always be at ends with each other.

Not saying there is or isn’t, just adding another perspective to the initial cast 😎
