I almost got blown up for the United States while in Afghanistan. 

I think about this a lot as I watch how the government treats our allies and our citizens these days. 

I know this piece of media has an agenda (like every other piece of media) and that Farcasters like to stay in their cozy bubble, but between the plain clothes abductions, the admin attacking Harvard’s tax exempt status, and the goofy ass supervillain gilding of the Oval Office I seriously urge you to consider the fact that we might be in for a bad time pretty soon.

I can’t understand how Trump is popular with veterans when he seems to treat them with such contempt.

Treat veterans poorly and people won’t want to fight for your country.  Seems obvious.

Easy, you get them to prioritize what they think they hate over what they think they love. And you conflate what they are told to love (freedom, patriotism…etc) with all the other loosely defined buzzwords. A large swath of people don’t think to question. If someone is branded a “woke radical liberal” they’ll be activated like they’re the Manchurian candidate, turn off all reason and follow orders. This is the playbook and it’s sadly still working
