Retracing the steps of my artistic trajectory keeps taking me back to my obsession with spirit photography of the late 1800s and early 1900s. This is technology as mediator for the invisible, the ‘occult’. This type of trick photography I tried to copy in the darkroom was my gateway to Photoshop. Image from 2002.

Off to the opening of the group show 16UP, celebrating 16 years of art space 38CC in the Dutch town of Delft. Happy to have The Three Motions of Loom tapestries included! The Three Motions are related to Fundamental Mechanics through their association with 16th century visual culture of my region.

Honestly, the transactional focus of this app depresses me endlessly. I don’t even want to connect a wallet, or be part of a ‘crypto-community’. It feels cut-off, gamified, worse than Twitter, in a sense, almost perverse.

Yesterday, kids, marked my 3-year minting anniversary, starting with the Fundamental Mechanics series on Hic et Nunc. #1 was minted on April 10, 2021, objkt 28370. For me, it was an experiment, an exploration. I had no expectations whatsoever. I was baffled when I sold one immediately. Links below!
