Okay, AI might actually be a problem. I just read about a company that works with brands to create “computer-generated” fashion models. Will they replace real-life human models? Not sure how I feel about it yet.

The sweet spot might be a hybrid solution. Use web3, but only as far as it doesn't impair UX and scalability. Otherwise, start with web2 and prove the idea works.

Here's the tradeoff: 1. With Web3 → Ideas can be fully-built. → UX issues will limit the no. of initial users. → Hard to prove product-market fit. 2. Without Web3 → Ideas start small. → More users are able to participate. → With P-M fit, you can go further using web3.

Most web3-native ideas are too early for the tech. However, I've realized that a lot of them can actually be done without web3. Caveat: They might not be fully-formed but value will still be delivered. Keen to experiment with some.

Meanwhile, “Arbitrum Orbit” is also a big announcement. With Orbit, developers can permissionlessly create L3 networks that settle to the Arbitrum L2. Truly, Ethereum scaling is the most exciting dev ecosystem in web3.

Apparently, Instagram is winding down their digital collectibles (NFT) features. Tbh, I'm not so surprised. Something about the product just didn't feel right. It seemed like a low-effort attempt to not miss out on the web3 meta. They probably figured the timing and “why” were wrong. I expect them back later.

What I learned this week: You can't force inspiration, especially for creative work. If your creative juices aren't flowing, take a break. Do something else (preferably unrelated). This will free up time for when your groove is back. How did your week go?!
